The Legend of Mo Co

According to local folklore, in the late 18th century, a young woman named Le Thi Hong from Tam Quan, Binh Dinh, accompanied her father on a sea trading voyage. While passing through the waters off Long Hai, their boat was struck by a fierce storm, and she tragically drowned. Her body washed ashore near Hon Hang and was buried by the local villagers on Co Son Hill.

It is said that after her death, she miraculously appeared to guide and protect local fishermen from misfortunes, storms, and disease. Over time, the people began to worship her as a guardian spirit. They built a shrine, which became known as "Mieu Co" or "Mo Co," in honor of Le Thi Hong.
